The Covenant Class examines a unique combination of Bible lessons, family and social issues, and church history and theology, all from the perspective of today's family.  Our lively discussions and fellowship are led by members of the church staff and congregation.

Hope you can join us in Room 230.

Class Schedule

While we’re on summer break, there are still some interesting Sunday School opportunities at the church, and I hope you’ll give them a try when you’re in town.  It’s a great way to meet some people not in our class.  Plus, who knows when the interesting insights gained in these classes could help make you the star of the poolside dinner conversation?  You never know…

here’s the info:

1.        The Internationals.  Room 327.  Even if you’re not part of their class, they’re always welcoming and eager to see you.  Drop in any time.

2.       Great Debates.  Reception/Berean Room.  Theological reflection on current issues.  Different topic each week.  Here are the speakers for the next 2 weeks:

June 6   Dr. Mark Douglas, Associate Professor of Christian Ethics, Columbia Theological Seminary

Topic:  Euthanasia.  How should we think about the importance of our lives?  What are the medical issues associated with euthanasia?  Is there a place for Dr. Kervorkian in Christian thought?

This guy (Mark Douglas) always makes you think in new ways.

June 13   Dr. Steve Hayner, President, Columbia Theological Seminary

Topic: The Future of the Church.  What will the church of tomorrow look like?  What are the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century?  How are Christian communities already innovating?

There are plenty of other great topics in the 8 week series, but this is enough for now.  (Looking ahead: Separation of Church and State, Money and Morals after the Crash, etc.)

 3.       Get to know Connie Lee, Chris Moore-Keish and a few other fellow members, even as you connect with the larger denomination in a small group study entitled: Rivers of Living Water.  It’s the Bible Study that our whole Presbyterian denomination is doing this summer, and you’re invited.  Very laid back yet lively and conversational.   Just bring yourself.
