SUNDAY

June 28, 2009

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”  I Corinthians 2:9

God is a God of surprises.  Throughout the Bible God surprised people...the shepherds in the field when Jesus was born, Abraham and Sarah with a son, Saul on the road to Damascus.  God loves to surprise us.  I love surprises and summer is a special time of surprises.  Life is not the same routine and offers times of rest and surprise.  Even when life seems impossible and problems seem giant, remember that God surprises us at times we least expect it.  Look for god surprises this week and this summer.

Youth Medical Consent Forms

First Presbyterian Church requires a Medical Consent Form to be completed and signed by a physician before participation in most youth events taking place away from the church. Download and print the medical consent form (.pdf).

Our mission statement:   Our youth ministry, for students in grades 6 through 12, provides a Christian community that offers worship, service, study, and fellowship. Our model is the early church described in Acts 2:42-45 - "And they devoted themselves to the Apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer . . . and all who believed were together and had all things in common, and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as any had need."The Christian community provided for our young people guides them in developing and deepening a faithful relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Our youth program also encourages their commitment to Christ and their reliance on the Holy Spirit to guide them in their daily lives. This year we hope to emphasize times of study, worship, service, fun and fellowship while encouraging investment from each individual.
